Communication OfficerProject & Research OfficerVolunteers

HKNLversations started as an interdisciplinary art exchange between Hong Kong and the Netherlands. Through masterclasses, workshops and Dutch-Cantonese productions we researched what ‘home’ means to us in a metaphorical way. ‘Home’ as a place/space where one can belong is something we co-create. Themes like: body-home, ethnic segregration in our city-home, the unspeakable in our city-home, and many more topics related to ‘home’ were addressed.

HKNLversations will soon get a new name, a name that fits with our developments. We have developed into a interdisciplinary collective producing visual, performing arts and dance performances. We act in China, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and soon also in the US and Portugal. We believe artists have a high level of sensitivity and expressiveness they can engage to critically reflect on societal issues and to open windows of opportunity into a (alternative) future.
See here for the themes we work on in the Netherlands in 2018/2019: http://reinventinghome.net/start/local-chapters/the-netherlands/
