Henk Kraaijeveld (1982) is a versatile jazzvocalist and songwriter, who upholds the tradition of vocal improvisation and makes crossovers between old and new styles of jazz. In Kraaijevelds’ music, playful and light- footed elements alternate with intense and vivacious harmonics. Amongst others, he finds himself inspired by Bobby McFerrin, Sting, Kurt Elling, John Coltrane, Pat Metheny and Avishai Cohen.
Henk graduated from Utrecht Conservatory in 2012 and studied at Manhattan School of Music, New York with Peter Eldridge. In 2013 he won the jury and audience award at the 10th edition of the Dutch Vocal jazz competition and played on Dutch national Radio 6 and several jazz festivals.
Besides his solo career, Henk is co-founder of the new promising vocal group The Junction, with which he toured in varies countries in Europe and Asia.
